Hotel in El Nido town
El Nido Beach Hotel
Rooms looking over Bacuit Bay, with a restaurant and garden in El Nido town
See today's offersOur Philippine hotels are in two very different places: Manila, the sprawling capital where most international flights land, and El Nido, the island-hopping base at the northern tip of Palawan. Many travellers spend a night or two in Manila on the way in or out and the rest of the trip by the sea.
Each destination has its own page with an area guide. In Manila that matters a lot, because traffic between districts is slow and the right neighbourhood can save hours.

See today's offersAcross most of the country, the dry season runs from about December to May, with March to May the hottest stretch. The wet season, roughly June to October or November, brings heavy rain and the risk of typhoons, which can disrupt flights and boat trips. If you travel then, keep a spare day in your plans.
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila is the main gateway. For El Nido, there are small-plane flights from Manila direct to El Nido's Lio Airport, or more frequent flights to Puerto Princesa followed by a van or bus ride of around 5 to 6 hours. Ferries also connect El Nido with Coron.
Cash is still important outside the big cities, and cash machines in smaller places like El Nido can run out or be limited, so carry enough pesos for tours and tricycles. Local SIM cards and eSIMs are easy to get at the airport.
Entry rules, including any online arrival registration, change from time to time. Check the latest guidance from the UK government (gov.uk foreign travel advice) or your own country's equivalent before you book.
One or two is enough for most visitors: time to see Intramuros, Rizal Park and the National Museum, and to rest before or after a domestic flight. Choose a hotel close to what you want to see, or near the airport for a short stopover.
A direct flight to El Nido's Lio Airport is the fastest option, though seats are limited. The more common route is a flight to Puerto Princesa and then a shared van north, which takes most of a day overall.
From about December to May, when the seas are usually calm for island-hopping. Tours can be cancelled in rough weather during the wet season.
