About us
Staywren is a hotel comparison and information site. We list 509 independent places to stay in 51 destinations, and link to booking partners where you can check prices and book.
Who we are
Staywren is run by the Staywren team, based in the United Kingdom. We are not a hotel, a travel agent or a booking platform. We don't take bookings or payments.
How we choose hotels
Most of the hotels on this site are small and independently run: guesthouses on Thai islands, riads in Marrakech's medina, family hotels in Siem Reap and Hoi An. We group them by destination and only give a destination its own page when we list at least three hotels there.
No hotel pays to be listed, and the order on our destination pages is not affected by commission. Hotels we have fully written up appear first.
How we write about them
- Each hotel page is written from the facts in the property's own listing: its type, area, facilities, address and distances to nearby places.
- We don't publish star ratings, review scores, guest quotes or prices of our own. Live prices and reviews are on the partner's site.
- We never use countdowns, "only one room left" messages or other pressure tactics.
- Destination guides stick to general, checkable information: which areas suit which trips, how to get there and when to go.
Hotels change. If something on a page is wrong or out of date, tell us and we'll correct it.
How we make money
When you click through to a partner such as Booking.com and make a booking, the partner may pay us a commission. You pay the same price as you would going to the partner directly. Our affiliate disclosure explains this in full.
